Mann Roberts

Mann Roberts is a second-generation welder who began his career at 14, inspired by his uncle. After studying welding at Wakulla High School and Lively Technical Vocational School, he joined Local Pipefitters Local 592, traveling across the country for projects in industries such as nuclear power and gas transmission. His passion for teaching led him to begin instructing in 1995, eventually becoming a training coordinator for Local 592 and completing an Instructor Training Program through Michigan State University.

In 2006, Mann launched a welding program at Lively Technical College with just five students, growing it to over 170 students in four years, making it the second-largest welding program in the U.S. In 2019, he introduced a Welding Certification Program through the American Welding Society and collaborated with the Florida Department of Education to revise welding courses and develop procedures for CAPE funding. Today, Mann continues to expand educational and professional welding opportunities for welders all across the United States.
